Not every letter needs a circle. It is not a hard constraint. Only use circles where they make sense. In the uppercase N, the outer lines may be slightly rounded because the circles are invisible to the observer; keep the quirky middle line driven by the object movement constraint.

Revision 1 / completed

Create a new regular N SVG pass with no visible outer circles and a more mechanically constrained middle diagonal.

Refine the N so the outer stems feel slightly rounded and mechanically formed while the middle diagonal remains the distinctive constrained, awkward, object-driven feature.

Changes

  • Soften the circle rule from a hard construction constraint to an optional detail used only where it improves the glyph.
  • Remove or hide explicit ring cues from the outer vertical strokes so they read as rounded metal members, not circular components.
  • Make the middle diagonal stricter: visibly jointed, subtly bent, and driven by hinge movement rather than typographic smoothness.
  • Preserve the graphite-black metallic depth, highlights, hinge pins, and shadowed joins from the current direction.

Path

  • Revise the regular N by simplifying the outer stems into lightly rounded metal bars and exaggerating the constrained hinge logic only in the middle diagonal.
